Long-time neighbors and friends-in-arms, Chris and Rob have been brewing up this concept for the last 3+ years. Each step of the way has been a small journey towards ultimately opening a long-lasting legacy in the Point Richmond industrial complex. Amongst the freight ships and docking stations sits their project, East Brother Beer – a beacon of light and main protagonist of this story.

First, East Brother Beer was named after a well-known nearby lighthouse, which stands active for more than 142 years. And just a hop, skip and a jump away stands the Rosie The Riveter WWII historical site. It befitting how the combined historical aspects of the area and industrial sensibilities helped shape EB’s classic, but modern, look-and-feel. From the shipyard building to the design of the cans representing a ship’s water levels, it’s a quiet homage to their predecessors.

Walking into East Brother Beer, you’ll find an approachable space with plenty of hangout room for ping pong, food trucks, an outdoor bocce ball court, and a no-frills lineup of classic beers. This local spot is perfect for larger groups looking to engage in a relaxed scenery without worry of disturbance and having to drive all the way to parts of Berkeley/ Oakland for a good time.

Simplicity done with precision; you’ll find only classic offerings here from the likes of an amber Red Lager to the hoppier Red IPA. None of those experimental blends or hop bombs. The duo’s approach to beer is simple and clear. Do not forget and appreciate the well-made approachable beers still best after a day’s hard work. Need a good Pilsner? We got it. Pale Ale? Of course.
